The metal-bearing unit at Thor is closely related to the transition between two major rock units, and therefore it is important to understand the location of this contact. In 2012, Taranis spent four months gaining a better understanding of the stratigraphy, and this is expected to help exploration efforts in the future.

Thor Idealized Stratigraphic Column

Thor has very complicated geology - but the main rock types on the property are surprisingly simple. The complex folding and faulting, combined with the extensive cover in the area complicate what is a normally a simple geological picture, but it also provides ample opportunity to discover new areas of mineralization.
